Last month when I was going to install a VM for some test purposes , I was getting error like “VMware Workstation and Device/Credential Guard are not compatible. VMware Workstation can be run after disabling Device/Credential Guard” , I was using vmware worksation 16 player . I checked I don’t have hyper-v enabled , so the reason should be Windows DG/CG(Device Guard/Credential Guard) is enabled, you can follow below steps to disable DG/CG

1.Download dgreadiness powershell script from https://www.microsoft.com/en-my/download/details.aspx?id=53337

and extract it somewhere ,let’s say into C:

2.Search “Powershell” from your start menu or search box , right-click it and click “Run as Administrator”

3.Run below command to set powershell execution policy to Unrestrict.(No worry ,you can revert it back to Restrict)

Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted

4.Go to the location of the directory where you extract dgreadiness script.

4.Run beow command to verify and disabe windows DG/CG(you may got different version of this script)

DG_Readiness_Tool_v3.6.ps1 -Ready
DG_Readiness.Tool_v3.6.ps1 -Disable
  1. Change Powershell execution poliy to Restricted
Set-ExecutionPolicy Restricted

6.Reboot your Windows 10
